Since new CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have announced their new slate of projects, Nightwing and other movies announced in the previous regime have fallen by the wayside. Instead, it sort of petered out due to attrition. It seems like that the Nightwing film never had an official confirmation from Warner Bros whether it is or is not happening. So our movie has got deprioritized, but no one ever said, “We’re not going to make that movie.” They just said, “Right now we have to fix these things.” Then the regimes changed, and I’m hoping now with James Gunn that maybe we can re-approach that. Whether they’re going to do more Wonder Woman movies and that sort of thing. Now, the son of Ultraman must rise to protect the Earth from a new alien threat. You know what I mean?… It was very clear that they were like, look, we have to… depending on which regime you’re talking about, because obviously I went through a couple… They had the Zack Snyder version, and then they had to figure out how they were going to answer the other films they were making from those movies. Decades ago, a hero from the stars left this world in peace. Well, no one ever really said that they’re not making that movie. The LEGO Batman Movie (2017) In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO® Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble LEGO Batman stars in his own big-screen adventure. When asked about the status on it Chris McKay offered a somewhat ambiguous response. Speaking of unproduced movies, Nightwing seems to be dead-in-the-water. Since then, LEGO signed a deal with Universal Studios to produce films, it is highly unlikely for Warner Bros to want to license out the DC Superheroes to another studio. Unfortunately, there will be no plans for a sequel. That’s some top-tired talent for a screenplay! What is even more mind-blowing about the script is how it is written by Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon and upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars writer Michael Waldron. Seeing the origins of the frosty inter-play could have been really interesting. When they held a giant party at Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, they neglected to invite Batman. The initial LEGO Batman Movie established that Batman has a tenuous relationship with the rest of the League. It was ultimately going to answer the question: How do you become Super-friends, and there was going to be a crossover with a major franchise that can only happen in a LEGO movie. It was going to explore Superman and Batman’s relationship in a very different way than you’ve ever seen it portrayed, including Superman’s alienation from humanity and how hard it is to truly be friends, real friends, for years. The sequel would’ve been a quasi Superfriends movie and the structure was going to be a sort of Godfather II kind of thing, with Batman and the Justice League facing a modern-day problem, Lex Luthor and OMAC, while at the same time flashing back to the reasons why Batman and the Justice League – and in particular, Superman – have bad blood. We had a really fun script with Dan Harmon and Michael Waldron, wrote a really fun kind of Superfriends. The story would have focused on Batman’s relationship with the Justice League- in particular with Superman. It is a movie created by DanzxvFan8275 (talk contribs logs block log) and produced by Spectromite Entertainment. In an interview with Uproxx, McKay talked about how The LEGO Batman Moviehad a sequel script written already.
